Arugam Bay is in the remote South East of the Island of Sri Lanka, close to Pottuvil – an area few tourists visit. Inland is a band of jungle 70km wide. Wild elephants roam the coastal plain and the small but delightful Lahugala National Park about 10 miles inland, and an astonishing range of birdlife migrates to the wetlands and the huge Yala National Park which starts about 20 miles to the south.
Apart from a beautiful ambience and cleanliness many small details add to the comfort of each room: Quality maters, a mosquito net or repellant (you choose), and of course soap, tissues, a supply of ice cold (or hot) drinking water, and a cup of tea or coffee when you wake up in the morning. All rooms & cabanas have mini bar, fans, mosquito nets & repellants, attached bathrooms, private terraces or balconies. Sea view from all rooms & cabanas. All ground floor rooms & cabanas have direct access to a big private beach garden. No AC in any rooms for environmental reasons. The rooms are well ventilated with fresh sea breeze & fans.
