Sustainability Mission Statement
Lanka Holidays.Net (Pvt) Ltd
Adopted: September 14, 2026

At Lanka Holidays.Net, we believe that tourism should be good for the traveler, good for local people and good for the places we visit. Sri Lanka is our home, and as a local travel company, we have a responsibility to help protect what makes our country special—our people, culture, wildlife, forests, beaches and ocean.
Our mission is to create memorable travel experiences while reducing the negative impacts of tourism and increasing the benefits it brings to local communities. We want our guests to enjoy Sri Lanka in a responsible way and to leave with a better understanding and appreciation of our country.
Caring for Our Environment and Ocean
Sri Lanka is a small island with an extraordinary natural environment. Our beaches, ocean, rivers, forests, national parks and wildlife are an important part of both our country and the experiences we offer our guests.
We therefore try to reduce unnecessary waste and the use of single-use plastics and encourage responsible use of water, electricity, fuel and other resources. We also encourage our guests and partners to keep beaches and natural areas clean and to avoid activities that can damage the marine environment.
Protecting the sea is particularly important to us. We want future generations to be able to enjoy clean beaches, healthy oceans and Sri Lanka’s marine life just as we do today.
Protecting Nature and Wildlife
Wildlife is one of Sri Lanka’s greatest attractions, but it must be experienced responsibly.
We encourage wildlife experiences that respect animals, their natural behavior and their habitats. Our aim is to work with guides, drivers and excursion providers who understand the importance of responsible wildlife tourism and avoiding unnecessary disturbance to animals.
We also encourage our travelers to respect national parks, forests, marine environments and other sensitive natural areas.
Supporting Local People
We believe that the benefits of tourism should be shared with the people who live in the destinations our guests visit.
Wherever practical, we work with local hotels, guides, drivers, restaurants, small businesses, artisans and other Sri Lankan suppliers. We also like to include opportunities for our guests to experience local food, traditions and everyday life in a respectful and authentic way.
By supporting local businesses and locally provided services, we hope that more of the income generated through tourism remains within Sri Lanka and contributes to local jobs and livelihoods.
Respecting Our Culture
Sri Lanka has a rich cultural and religious heritage, and we want our guests to experience it with respect.
We provide guidance where necessary on appropriate behavior at temples, religious places, villages and cultural sites. We encourage travelers to respect local traditions, dress appropriately where required, ask permission before photographing people and treat local communities with courtesy.
Our goal is not simply to show Sri Lanka to our guests, but to help them understand and respect the country they are visiting.
Fair and Responsible Business
We believe responsible tourism also means running our company responsibly.
Lanka Holidays.Net is committed to fair and ethical business practices, respect for human rights, equal treatment and appropriate working conditions. We do not support discrimination, exploitation, child labor, forced labor or any form of abuse.
The protection of children and vulnerable people is particularly important, and we expect responsible behavior from our employees, guides, suppliers and business partners.
Working with Our Partners
We cannot achieve our sustainability goals alone. Hotels, transport providers, guides, excursion providers, restaurants and other suppliers all play an important role in the travel experiences we provide.
We therefore encourage our partners to operate responsibly, treat their employees fairly, reduce waste, conserve water and energy, avoid unnecessary plastics, respect local communities and protect nature and wildlife.
Where possible, sustainability will continue to be considered when we choose and work with our tourism partners.
Helping Our Guests Travel Responsibly
Small choices made during a holiday can make a difference.
We encourage our guests to reduce waste, avoid unnecessary single-use plastics, save water and energy, respect wildlife, keep beaches and natural areas clean, support local businesses and respect Sri Lankan customs and communities.
We believe responsible travel should not take away from the enjoyment of a holiday. Instead, it can make the experience more meaningful.
Our Ongoing Commitment
We know that becoming more sustainable does not happen overnight. It is something we need to keep working on.
We will continue to review the way we operate, look for practical improvements, work with our staff and partners and take steps to reduce the environmental and social impacts of our activities. We will also continue looking for ways in which tourism can make a greater positive contribution to Sri Lanka.
Our aim is simple: to create wonderful holidays while helping to protect the Sri Lanka we are proud to call home. We want our tourism activities to contribute positively to our people, communities, culture, wildlife, beaches and ocean, so they can continue to be enjoyed by generations to come.
